I'm Lloyd. That's all you're getting out of me.
You can ask me things over here or submit things with links and pictures over here. Only if you feel so inclined.
I have an FAQ. You don't have to read it but it certainly would be appreciated
"Just as I am the Stephen Fry of tumblr, I believe you are the Jeff Goldblum of tumblr." -Jim "Stephen Fry of Tumblr And Master of All Things" Cadwell
So this is a mockup of a plush…”Homestuck Salamander”? I’ve never read Homestuck, and no challenge to do this was officially issued, but I’m bored.
If you’re unfamiliar with the process of soft sculpting, this is like a sketch. I drew pieces and basted (a method of temporarily sewing things together) them so I could see what it looks like. From here I’ll tweak it, then I’ll take it apart and make a pattern from the pieces.
You might be able to see that I’ve already put a pin in the back; I started the gusset too low, and it made the shape of the back of the head really awful. Besides that, these are the things I’m wondering about, from both an accuracy standpoint and a making it cute in general perspective…
- Should the tail be bigger?
- Should the head be wider?
- Are the legs too skinny?
- What’s wrong with the front of the face in general?
OH MY GOD.

But oh man I can’t believe you actually made this happen. A+ for you.
Look at us, a couple of Salamander Connoisseurs. I think I just found the name for your next album.
Yeah, I just drew those eyes on for me. I’ve got good eyes planned. Prototype 1 is almost finished. Pictures in roughly...
